$1 BILLION SCAM IN ILHAN OMAR’S COMMUNITY! Minnesota Welfare System In Collapse

The House Oversight Committee, under Chairman James Comer, has opened a formal investigation into Minnesota’s handling of a COVID-era food-aid program — highlighting nearly $1 billion in alleged fraud tied to the nonprofit Feeding Our Future. Federal prosecutors have already charged roughly $300 million connected to the scheme. Comer claims the fraud exploded under Walz’s watch, alleging that whistleblowers were ignored and that aid meant for needy children was siphoned off. The probe underscores concerns over lax oversight and taxpayer-fund mismanagement, raising sharp questions about state leadership and accountability. It also signals mounting pressure on Walz to answer for what critics call a catastrophic failure of governance.

Under Governor Tim Walz, Minnesota’s social-services safety net was deeply exploited — fraud rings, many linked to members of the Somali diaspora, looted hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars designed for vulnerable children and families. The scandal centers on the now-defunct nonprofit Feeding Our Future (FOF), which billed the state for millions in meals and services while delivering very little; federal prosecutors say roughly $250 million of federal aid was stolen under this scheme. Internal auditors and state employees repeatedly flagged the abuse — but according to whistleblowers, Walz’s administration tacitly ignored warnings and even retaliated against staff who raised red flags. Critics argue this represents a fundamental failure of oversight and accountability, illustrating how lax enforcement and political sensitivity enabled fraud to flourish under state leadership. The scandal raises serious questions about the integrity of Minnesota’s social-welfare programs and calls for sweeping reform to restore taxpayer trust and safeguard future aid.

In early 2021, two men identified in unsealed FBI affidavits tied to Feeding Our Future — Ahmed Ghedi and Abdihakim Ahmed — donated a combined $5,400 to Ilhan Omar’s campaign. Both men were linked to shell companies that funneled federal child nutrition funds into what authorities call a massive fraud scheme. After the search warrants became public, Omar’s campaign said it sent those donations to local food-shelf charities “out of an abundance of caution.” Both Ahmed Ghedi and Abdihakim Ahmed have pled guilty to their crimes.
